The Seaway Falcon was a Rigid and Flexible Lay Vessel, with Tiltable J-Lay Tower on the stern for rigid pipeline and vertical lay system on the midship through a moonpool.
She could store 2000t  of pipe on board and 1600t of flexible flow line and umbilical.
A deck mounted reel can also be deployed for the piggyback line.

The introduction of Dynamic Positioning (DP) DP automatically maintain the vessel's position and heading using its propellers and thrusters. The vessel's response to these forces, i.e. its changes in position, heading and speed, is measured by the position-reference systems, the gyrocompass and the vertical reference sensors. This enabled part completed pipelines can be rejoined by lifting from the sea bed to continue assembling the pipe line.
