The Seaway Falcon was a Rigid and Flexible Lay Vessel, with Tiltable J-Lay Tower on the stern for rigid pipeline and vertical lay system on the midship through a moonpool.
She could store 2000t of pipe on board and 1600t of flexible flow line and umbilical.
A deck mounted reel can also be deployed for the piggyback line.

The vessel's response to these forces, i.e. its changes in position, heading and speed, is measured by the position-reference systems, the gyrocompass and the vertical reference sensors. This enabled part completed pipelines can be rejoined by lifting from the sea bed to continue assembling the pipe line.
